Abstract
A five-year-old girl presented with complaints of pain, swelling, and localized fever on the dorsal side of the right foot. A diagnosis of navicular osteomyelitis was made and she underwent surgery. Cultures obtained intraoperatively revealed Staphylococcus aureus and broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy was administered. Postoperative follow-up showed no local or systemic signs or symptoms. Because of its rarity during childhood, clinical findings of navicular osteomyelitis are presented, along with its treatment and outcome.

Sağ ayak travması sonrası ayak dorsalinde ağrı, şişlik ve ısı artışı şikayetleriyle görülen beş yaşındaki kız çocuğunda navikuler osteomyelit saptandı ve cerrahi tedavi uygulandı. İntraoperatif alınan materyalin kültüründe Staphylococcus aureus üredi ve geniş spektrumlu bir antibiyotikle tedavi sürdürüldü. Postoperatif takiplerde lokal veya sistemik herhangi bir patolojik bulguya rastlanmadı. Navikuler osteomyelit çocuklarda çok nadir görüldüğü için, olgu sunulmaya değer bulundu.
