Total knee arthroplasty has revolutionised the treatment of gonarthrosis. A great achievement has been observed in the last decade with the introduction of basic principles \"Geometric Designs\", \"minimal resection\", \"maximum flexion\" and \"physiologic rotation\". There are over 200 different prosthetic designs seen in the international platform: this is the evidence of ongoing research on the subject.

Günümüzde diz protezleri gonartrozda yeni bir çığır açmış olup, son 10 yıldır \"Geometrik Şekil\", \"minimal rezeksiyon\", \"maksimum fleksiyon\" ve \"fizyolojik rotasyon\" ana prensipleriyle ilerlemeler kaydetmiştir. Uluslararası platformda 200’e yakın diz protezi şeklinin olması bu konunun sürekli araştırma içerisinde olduğunu göstermektedir.
