Abstract
Postoperative infection is a serious complication of spinal surgery especially when instruments are used. Risk of infection is increased by complexity and duration the operation, tissue damage, and associated disease of the patient. The authors report a lumbar 5-sacral 1 spondylolisthesis case who had developed a surgical wound infection after posterior spinal instrumentation and fusion consequently taken antibiotics for a long period and Enterococcus L-form was isolated by using hypertonic media from the culture negative patient.
Özet
Spinal cerrahi girişimlerde, özellikle instrumentasyon uygulanan vakalarda gelişen postoperatif enfeksiyon oldukça ciddi bir komplikasyondur. Cerrahinin yapısı, süresi, dokuya verilen hasar ve hastadaki mevcut eş zamanlı problemlerin varlığı postoperatif infeksiyon riskini arttırmaktadır. Lomber 5- sakral 1 spondilolistezis nedeniyle posterior instrumentasyon ve posterior füzyon uygulanan bir hastada, postoperatif gelişen enfeksiyon uzun süren antibiyoterapi uygulanması ve rutin kültürlerde üreme elde edilememesine rağmen; hipertonik besiyeri kullanılarak, Enterokok L-formu izole edilmiş ve bir vaka olarak sunulmuştur.
