Abstract
To 30 patients with lomber discopathy, associated with radiculopathy. 80 mg of methyl prednisolone acetate epidural injections were applied in periods of 15 days.\nPain severity, using the visual analogue scale, straightleg raising test. Lomber schober, palpation findings, functional condition, results of treatment according to the patient and the physician were the parameters assessed before and after treatment and the resultswere compared. The results of improvement after treatment for pain severity, straight-leg raising Test. lomber schober parameters when compared before treatment were meaningful. (P 0,01. P 0.01,). \nThere was no meaningful difference in the findings of palpation. There was (%60) improvement in the functİonal condition. \nThe number ofpatients who showed improvement according to phyician were 20 (%67) according to the patient 17 (%57). It should be emphasized that in discopathy associated with radiculopathy treatment, epidural injection is not a basic treatment modality. Exercises of patient education is also important for the improvement of the patient.
Özet
Diskopatiye bağlı radikülopatili 30 olguya 15 gün aralıklarla 80 mg metil prednisolon asetat epidural enjeksiyonu ile uygulandı. Olgular tedavi öncesi ve sonrası visüel analog skala ile ağrı şiddeti, düz bacak kaldırma testi, lomber shober, palpasyon ile muayene bulguları, fonksiyonel durum, hasta ve hekime göre tedavi sonuçları yönünden değerlendirilerek karşılaştırıldı. Tedavi sonrasında ağrı şiddeti, düz bacak kaldırma testi, lomber shober ölçümlerinde tedavi öncesine göre anlamlı bir iyileşme bulundu. (P <0.001, P < .O.01, p <0.01) \nPalpasyon ile muayene bulguları arasındaki farklılık anlamlı değildi. Fonksiyonel durumda iyileşme 19 (%60) olguda sağlandı. Tedavi sonuçları hastaya göre 17 (%57), hekime göre 20 (%67) olguda iyi idi. Diskopatiye bağlı radikülopatilerin tedavisinde epidural steroid enjeksiyonlarının temel tedavi modalitesi olmadığı, iyileşmenin devamının uygun bir egzersiz programı ile sağlanması ve hastanın eğitimi gerektiği gözönünde bulundurulmalıdır.
