Abstract
Objectives: Functional results of hemiarthroplasty procedure in the treatment of patients with posterior locked fracture dislocation of the shoulder were evaluated.\nMethods: Five shoulders of four patients (3 men, 1 woman; mean age 62.25 years) who underwent hemiarthroplasty were evaluated. The mean length of time between the occurrence of trauma and surgery was 8.4 months (range 6-11 months). Evaluation of pain and function was made using visual analogue scale. Patients were also assessed by the Constant functional shoulder score. The mean follow-up was 30.8 months (18-48 months).\nResults: The mean preoperative and postoperative Constant functional shoulder scores were 21.2 and 78, respectively. Visual analogue scale scores showed significantly decreased pain and increased function. The mean external rotation of the shoulders increased from -9° to 8°. No postoperative infections developed. During follow-up, recurrent dislocation and prosthesis loosening were not observed.\nConclusion: Hemiarthroplasty of the shoulder is a reliable technique in the treatment of posterior locked fracture dislocation of the shoulder in cases in which glenoid articular surface is not injured.

Amaç: Çalışmamızda gecikmiş omuz posterior kilitli çıkığı nedeniyle parsiyel omuz protezi uygulanan hastaların fonksiyonel sonuçları değerlendirildi.\nÇalışma planı: Parsiyel omuz protezi uygulanan dört hastanın (3 erkek, 1 kadın; ort. yaş 62.25) beş omzu değerlendirildi. Dislokasyonla cerrahi arası geçen ortalama süre 8.4 ay (6-11 ay) idi. Hastalarda ağrı, fonksiyon ve hareket genişliği ayrı ayrı değerlendirildi. Ağrı ve fonksiyon değerlendirmeleri görsel analog skala ile yapıldı. Olgular Constant fonksiyonel omuz skorlamasına göre de değerlendirildi. Ortalama takip süresi 30.8 ay (18-48 ay) idi.\nSonuçlar: Constant fonksiyonel omuz skoru ortalaması ameliyat öncesi 21.20 iken, ameliyat sonrası 78 puan olarak saptandı. Ağrıda görsel analog skalaya göre belirgin azalma ve fonksiyonda ise belirgin artma gözlendi. Eksternal rotasyon -9 dereceden 8 dereceye yükseldi. Ameliyat sonrası hiçbir olguda enfeksiyon gözlenmedi. Takip süresi içinde yeniden çıkık ve protez gevşemesi saptanmadı.\nÇıkarımlar: Glenoid eklem yüzeyinin zarar görmediği posterior kilitli omuz kırıklı çıkığının tedavisinde parsiyel omuz protezi omuz fonksiyonlarını belirgin şekilde arttırmaktadır.
