Thirteen previously operated cases with chronic osteomyelities and five cases with open and infected tibial and fibular fractures applied to the Department of Orthopaedics and traumatology of the Faculty of Medicine, Cumhuriyet University during 1985-1987 and were treated by local muscle flaps.\nAs a result of treatment, all the choronic osteomyelitic cases recovered from infections. In the 5 cases with open tibial and fibular fractures, bone grafts and splitthickness Cutaneal grafits, as well as electrical stimulation were used in addition to local muscle flaps as a result of which infection was done away with and bone union achieved.

Daha önce ameliyat geçirmiş kronik osteomiyelitli (*) 13 hasta ile açık ve enfekte tibia-fibula kırıkları olan 5 olgu 1985-1987 yılları arasında Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Anabilim Dalı Kliniğinde lokal kas flebleri ile tedavi edilmiştir.\nOsteomiyelitli olguların hepsinde bu tedaviyi takiben enfeksiyon ortadan kalkmıştır. Tibianın görünür durumda olduğu 5 olguda lokal kas flebi, kemik grefti, 2 gün sonra cilt grefi uygulaması ve aynı seansta elektrik stimülasyonu uygulanmıştır. Olgularımızın hepsinde de enfeksiyon düzelmiş ve kırık iyileşmesi görülmüştür.
