Congenital Club Foot Deformity A long;term followup of 12 cases

Abstract In this paper, 55 congenital club feet deformities were treated by conservatively with the cast correction, between the years of 1966 - 1975. The characteristics of 12 cases followed approximately 5 years have been discussed. Out of 12 cases, four were graded fairly. In these four cases, the most conspicuous complication is the varus recurrence of the hind foot clinically and flat top talus radiologically. In the long-term follow-up, the cases effect recurrence and the complications encountered in the soft tissues and bones were discuessed. As a result, it has been advised that the treatment should be started within a few days soon after birth, cast correction should be applied meticulousiy and attention must be given to recurrences in the follow-up period.
ÖzetBu yazıda, 1966-1975 yılları arasında alçılı düzeltmelerle konservatif olarak tedavi edilen 55 equino varus vakasında, ortalama 5 yıl süre ile izlenen 12 vakanın özelliklerine değinilmiştir. 12 Vakanın 4 ü orta olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu 4 vakada klinik olarak en belirgin komplikasyon topuk varus nüksü ve radyolojik olarakta talus üst eklam yüzünün yassılaşmasıdır (flat top talus). Geç takipteki nükse etken olan nedenlerle yumuşak doku ve kemiklerde rastlanan komplikasyonlar tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, tedavinin doğumu takiben ilk birkaç gün içinde başlaması, alçılı düzeltmelerin titizlikle uygulanması ve takip döneminde nüksler yönünden dikkatli davranılması önerilmiştir.
